AI Researched Review Brief
The Complete Associate Dentist is a live online coaching program from Dr. Joshua Heyrend, built around case based mentorship for associate dentists who want help with both clinical decisions and the direction of their career. Each session is shaped around the dentist's own cases, questions, and experience level, so the guidance fits where you are now rather than following a fixed lecture.
What makes the experience different:
- Learn from Dr. Joshua Heyrend, a general dentist who earned his DMD from Western University of Health Sciences in 2017, completed an AEGD residency through NYU Langone, and has worked at an urgent care dental office in Tempe, Arizona since 2020.
- Draw on a wide associate career: he has practiced in a few states and in 14 different offices, including time as a temporary and traveling dentist and providing emergency care through the pandemic.
- Get clinical guidance rooted in daily work with dental emergencies, surgical extractions, molar endodontics, implant placement and restoration, and CEREC.
- Work through a live online mentoring call built around your current experience and specific questions, using real radiographs and clinical photos to make the concepts concrete.
- Leave with a customized post call report that summarizes the discussion and the clinical principles covered, plus a personalized plan for what to work on next.
Best practical takeaways:
- A clearer framework for deciding when a site suits immediate implant placement and when to graft and stage
- A more organized way to evaluate cases instead of relying mainly on feel
- Practical ways to bring new clinical knowledge into daily practice
- A written follow up plan with specific techniques to practice
- A habit of organizing case photos and radiographs for ongoing review
- Perspective on associate roles and office settings from a dentist who has worked in many of them
Program distinction: The Complete Associate Dentist is not a recorded implant course or a general lecture series. Its value is having an experienced associate apply what he has learned across many offices to your own cases, with case review, clinical frameworks, career perspective, and a written follow up plan working together. Verified attendee feedback highlights in depth answers to questions, a session focused on the attendee's own gaps, and a follow up plan that made the call feel like the start of ongoing development.
Best for: associate and general dentists at the beginner to intermediate level who want an experienced clinician to review their cases, sharpen judgment in areas like implants, extractions, and endodontics, and think through their next career steps. You will get the most from it by bringing specific cases, radiographs, photos, and questions to each session.
What dentists said (2)
I came into the session with some implant experience, but I was still relying too much on instinct when deciding whether a site was truly appropriate for immediate placement. Dr. Heyrend gave me a much clearer framework for evaluating the buccal plate, socket anatomy, bone morphology, tissue biotype, angulation, and when it is safer to graft and stage the case instead of forcing immediate placement. He was able to consolidate knowledge from his clinical experience and extensive CE training into one focused, practical session.
Reviewing real radiographs and clinical photos made the concepts much easier to understand and apply. The discussion around targeting the palatal root in maxillary premolars, selecting subcrestal depth, managing the buccal gap, and creating a custom healing abutment helped fill in several gaps I had not been able to connect through courses or online content alone.
The session also gave me a more organized way to approach future cases instead of making decisions based mainly on feel. I left with more confidence, but also with a better understanding of where I still need repetition and case review.
This was much more focused than a general implant lecture. It was built around my current experience, specific questions, and the areas where I needed the most guidance.
I also received a customized post call report that summarized what we discussed, the clinical principles covered, and a personalized plan for what to work on next. My follow up plan included using the 4 millimeter biotype framework, mapping the palatal root before maxillary premolar placement, practicing the custom healing abutment technique, and organizing my case photos and radiographs for future review. That made the session feel like the beginning of an ongoing development plan rather than a one time coaching call.
Great course. Dr. Heynard shared a lot of information but more importantly he he took the time to go in depth with answering questions.
Very knowledgeable but also spoke about how to implement this into your daily practice.
